A long time ago, when dwarves lived near humans in Stormfield, they loved noise, fun, holidays, drinking and gambling. But still they worked in the mountains where they extracted valuable resources such as ore, cobalt, gold, gems, precious stones and many more. Once, after consulting with each other, they decided to succumb to their inner call and move to the mountains where they will build their new and amazing homeland, even better than they built for the humans. When they finally left, they were left with nothing but a burning desire to conquer the complex structures of the mountains and create their own personal sanctuary and haven for all then dwarves of Middle-lands.

It took a long time to find the perfect location for a dwarven realm, as they are meticulous in their work. But one day the dwarves found an abandoned mine where their brothers once worked, and decided to check it out. They began to study it and found that it contains a huge amount of jewelry, unique stones, metals…And most importantly, the mine led to a dungeon, which, according to the dwarves, could become an ideal place for a great underground kingdom, which they never had.

The dwarves did not have time to rejoice in their luck, when they smelled the smell of burnt meat and brimstone. They began to panic, and a moment later they saw a flash of light in the distance, which swiftly rushed towards them…And they realized that this was not just light, it was a column of fire and brimstone, which sweeped at them with incredible force. The dwarves rushed into the loose, but many did not have time and were burned alive.

After a while, come out of your hiding places, the dwarves discovered that down in that very dungeon a great danger awaits them in the form of an ancient cobalt dragon — Wyvern. They knew that in open battle they would die and applied their dwarven craftiness and knowledge of some of the technology of siege weapons.

The trick was that the dwarves built huge ballistas with incredibly sharp and long arrows capable of piercing dragon scales. They deployed their ballistas around the perimeter of the dungeon and were able to lure out the cobalt dragon with…themselves. Fortunately, the dragon was quite young and succumbed to their trick. As soon as he got out of his hiding place, the dwarves fired on him with all the arrows that they had, all the crossbows, bows and of course the ballista. And it worked! One of the ballista shells was able to pierce the dragon’s scales and then the dragon fell. The rest the dwarves finished with their huge axes, picks and poleax…

The dragon’s blood dripped and flowed like a river, it was golden in color and turned the stone into jewels, which became even more in the mine. And the dwarves realized that this was not the first dragon to be slain here. Subsequently, they were able to build their own kingdom, but it became known as the sad name Bloodmines because of the shed blood of the Dragon.

The dwarves continued to befriend the humans and having a trading bonds with them. Their kingdom prospered and beautiful buildings were erected, but because of that dragon slaying, dragons began to attack Bloodmines from time to time in revenge for his fallen brother.
