For decades, the elves lived in the forests, studying nature, the local inhabitants, and the magical powers enclosed in these wild and recalcitrant places. Over time, they realized that the knowledge they acquired is of great value for the whole world, because back then they already felt that the evil forces were returning to the peaceful lands and little by little were gaining strength again. The elves knew that their gathered knowledge will help the future generation of Middle-lands to withstand the hard times and defeat the powers of Darkness in the next Great War for the balance of the Universe. So they decided to build a majestic city, which in itself will be a repository of the Great Knowledge, a refuge for forest dwellers, and a haven for magicians of the light.
The task was not easy as the elves could not find a suitable place for their new home, but fate helped them. Since the elves inhabited the forests, there has been a conflict between Titans and Dragons on Emperyan lands. These two types of creatures could not get along with each other, as both were too proud to make concessions and believed that they could no longer coexist together because they were too powerful. But in fact, the elves knew the whole truth. In reality, Titans and Dragons have been one whole since time immemorial. These creatures drew their magic from the same ancient sources and it was their destiny to rule the upper world together as each contributes invaluably. But once the Darkness filled their minds and began to quarrel them in order to enslave them when they will weaken. That is why elves put all their efforts to reconcile them and thanks to their wisdom and mastery of diplomacy they were able to do that. They convinced the Dragons and the Titans that both of them are needed to each other in order to maintain the balance of the High-Lands. They also helped to divide the land wisely and equally, distributing each of the parties the plots they needed and wanted the most.
In gratitude, the Titan and the Dragons presented the elves with a golden magic acorn. The elves were surprised by such a valuable gift and planted an acorn in the center of the forest as a sign of respect. At that very moment, as the acorn was buried, the ground began to tremble violently and diverge right under the feet of the elves and forest dwellers. As a result, a huge maple tree grew in place of the acorn. It was so tall that he aspired to heaven, and even his top of the crown was not visible behind the clouds. The elves realized that this tree would be the ideal basis for their new home. And it took them only 300 years to completely erect a city, the core of which was a magnificent maple tree. Elves called it Tal Lagor — translated from Elvish as a maple song, in honor of the reconciliation of the Titans and Dragons, as well as the song of the forest thanks to which the elves were able to find loyal allies as forest dwellers.
